Telecommunications giant, AirtelTigo has made public its plan to employ about 30,000 new agents across the country.

Director for AirtelTigo Money, Edmund Barwuah revealed this during a press briefing, at the AirtelTigo Headquarters in Accra

According to him, the initiative is to enable customers enjoy an expanded network and agent base.

He mentioned that the Telecom giant, will be developing new products and services to help boost customer’s experience.

However, he said AirtelTigo also aims at creating a cash-lite financial ecosystem, to help reduce the inherent risks associated with cash handling.

According to him, the company will continue to invest in the Mobile Financial Services and ensure that customers can have easy access to their money and the capacity to use e-money efficiently.

Chief Executive Officer, Roshi Motman, also said the company’s big focus remains digital and financial inclusion.

She revealed that they were integrating Tigo Cash and Airtel Money unto an ISO certified platform which would deliver superior customer experience.

According to her, it will provide access to wider agent network, reduce customer’s cost of a transaction, and facilitate product innovation.

She said AirtelTigo has signed an agreement with Mahindra Comviva, a global IT leader to help merge Tigo Cash and Airtel Money on a secure and reliable platform.

Driving by optimism, she explained that when the integration is complete in April 2018, customers can enable mobile money transaction across both Airtel Money and Tigo Cash wallets.
