Barclays Bank has upgraded it’s mobile banking app in Botswana to give customers a better banking experience.

According to the Bank, the newly refreshed app is meant to give customers a better banking experience, offer more functionality and give the bank a competitive edge in the market.

Brighton Banda, the Retail Banking Customer who was the guest of honour at the presentation said as a business, they have identified Digital Banking as a critical element that is needed to drive their strategy, now and in the future.

“Our commitment towards this strategic pillar is underpinned by our current heavy investment towards maintaining, upgrading and developing our digital platforms,” he said.

He mentioned that new functionalities will be introduced across their channels.

Accordingly, he said they have noted that most customers spend much time online, and as such, want to offer convenience.

“We value our customer’s time and note that digital banking platforms are critical to full this purpose of providing convenience,” he said.

According to him, the upgrade of the app in March 2018, positively impacted their company as the number of daily uploads increased.

He revealed that by the end of April, a new feature being the finger print login will be introduced to enhance the App’s security.
