Unlike the previous editions of the TVA Dialogue, today’s edition promises to be thrilling with key players from the Kumasi tech ecosystem as they discuss how Kumasi has placed Ghana on the global ICT map.

The dialogue which will commence at 3:00 pm under the theme: “Conceive, Nurture, Blossom: How Kumasi Placed Ghana on the Global ICT Map” will welcome speakers like the CEO of Hapaspace, CEO of Kumasi Hive and the CEO of Sesi Technologies who have made great impact in the tech industry.

The discussion will bring to light innovations lacking in the tech ecosystem that could help the youth excel in the global market.

It will also focus on the role Government has played in helping techopreneurs gain global recognition and how Africa can match up with companies like Microsoft, Amazon and Samsung.

Our Speakers

Co-founder of Sesi Technologies, Isaac Sesi

Isaac Sesi is the co-founder of Sesi Technologies, an AgriTech company which develops hardware and software solutions for farmers and agribusinesses in Africa. He also leads Nsesa Foundation, a non-profit which trains young Africans in basic STEM skills to help them solve problems in Africa using science and technology.

Isaac has a degree in electrical and electronic engineering from KNUST. He is an MIT Technology Review Innovator Under 35, a Tony Elumelu Fellow a Next Einstein Forum finalist and a World Summit Awards National Winner. He was recently selected as one of the 50 most influential young Ghanaians for 2018.

Isaac has had the opportunity to showcase his work to several heads of states including the president and vice president of Ghana, the Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel and Prince Charles of Wales.

Co-founder Hapaweb Solutions, Gideon Brefo

Gideon Brefo has successfully built and co-founded Hapaweb Solutions and HapaSpace which drives the Kumasi entrepreneurial ecosystem with technology, innovation and synergy.

He is currently the Chairman for the Ghana Hubs Network and has worked with groups from over eight countries and several multinational companies such as the British Council, Expresso Telecom and Indego Africa. Gideon has facilitated many
international programs including the Rockefeller ICT employability skills for the disadvantaged in Ghana and the Indego Africa Corporate training. He has trained over 1000 teachers and professors in Intercultural Fluency in China, and is currently the Board Chair of the Ghana Hubs Network.

He is passionate about education and has worked with over 42 senior high schools and universities to develop IT enabled teaching methods. As a business owner, entrepreneur and motivational blogger, he devotes his CSR to volunteer teaching at schools.

Co-founder Kumasi Hive, Jorge Appiah

Jorge Appiah is the Co-founder/CEO of Kumasi Hive; a Tech innovation Hub for rapid prototyping of ideas, budding local innovations, impact start-up support and promoting youth entrepreneurship as a way of addressing critical social economic and developmental challenges.

He is passionate about youth employment and impact innovations which causes him to focus on accelerating the adoption of the 4th industrial age technologies in solving crucial challenges and creating jobs in Africa through Human Capacity building.

He is also the community lead for Africa Open Science and Hardware ( AfricaOSH) which seeks to create the platform for the promotion of Open Science and hardware practice and utilization by African makers, scientists, academia, artists and engineers. Jorge is a Technoprenuer and Africa Tech-Policy Expert with a background in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (BSc), Business Administration (MBA) and Renewable energy (MSc).
