The Government of Ghana has announced its intention to launch the electronic Visa (E-Visa) system next year, to speed up the Visa acquisition process and boost tourism.

The Vice President of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia mentioned that with this initiative, travellers would just have to file their application online without visiting the embassies.

He indicated that the e-visa application will require details like the applicant’s passport number, travel date and digital address.

Applicants will also have to pay a fee by credit or debit card before relevant authorities can commence the process.

Dr Bawumia added that, there would be a Single Air transport market to advance the African Continental Free Trade Area operationalisation.
