Hacklab Foundation in collaboration with Certified Ghana, held the second edition of My IT Career Seminar 2018 on Saturday,  October 20, at the China Europe International Business School at East Legon, Accra.

The event which was aimed at empowering individuals in the IT industry brought together seasoned and experienced IT professionals to share their stories on how they navigated their journey to become successful.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Mymy Christian Gnahore encouraged participant to be open minded whiles exploring new opportunities in the IT industry.

According to him opportunities in the IT industry demand individuals who are passionate, ready to learn and ready to follow the evolving trend to be able to fit in.

Speaking to the theme, “Repurposing yourself for the Fourth Industrial Revolution Skills” he explained that to be part of the IT revolution, individuals need to be ready for change.

According to him, IT is a rapidly evolving field and to stay relevant as professionals individuals also need to evolve.

Speaking at the event,  Mr. Nicholas also indicated IT professionals need to understand business communication and be emotionally intelligent to enable them cooperate in the industry.

Emotional intelligence, he said is a crucial factor in IT excellence and as such aspiring professionals need to mould themselves in that direction.

He also hinted that IT professionals need to be current, ready to explore, passionate and problem solvers warding off the technician tag.

Individuals who attended the event were given the chance to partake in a special designed IT Online learning by IBM for the Hacklab Community and a chance to become a member of the Hacklab X-Hub Community.

According to the President of Hacklab  Foundation, Mr. Foster Awintiti, the Hacklab IT Career Seminar will also be organized at:
• Kumasi on 2nd November, 2018 at the College of Science Auditorium, KNUST
• Ho on 9th November, 2018 at G.M. Afeti Auditorium, Ho Technical University
• Tamale on 16th November, 2018 at the University for Development Studies and
• Tarkwa on 24th November, 2018 at the University of Mines and Technology.
