Huawei Technologies has appointed a new CEO, with 15 years experience in the telecommunications industry for its branch based in Austria, Viennas 22nd district.
The new CEO: Jackie Zhang also has an extensive know-how in the field of sales and marketing with profound understanding of international business and intercultural team management.
He will focus on working with network operators and companies and also intensify contacts with industrial organizations and the public sector.
“There are strong ambitions in Austria to become Europe’s pioneer in digitization. Huawei welcomes this commitment and is happy to provide its know-how and the latest solutions in areas such as 5G, Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security in order to best support Austria on its way to the top of digitization, ” Mr. Zhang said.
Commenting on his new position and responsibilities, he added that he looks forward to the new challenges and to working with his team in Austria.
Mr. Zhang started his career after completing his studies at the Anhui University of Finance and Economics in the International Sales department at Huawei. In 2004 he was sent to Sri Lanka by Huawei, where he was Director of Maldives Market and Key Account Director for Sri Lanka Telecom.
From 2014 to 2017, Zhang was deputy general manager of Huawei Vietnam before moving to Europe for the group: the telecommunications expert most recently worked as the director of the Carrier Network Business Group in Poland.
