Hyundai has revealed a sketch of its 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe SUV, which will be revealed later this month, ahead of the official debut of the Geneva Show in March.
These rendering of the new generation Santa Fe follow the teaser image from last week.
The drawings exaggerate certain features, such as the bulging fenders and large wheels that look a bit disconnected.
Hyundai says that the ‘robust, stylish and voluminous composition reflects Hyundai’s new SUV design identity’.
There are some sharp body lines and the front and rear ends borrow heavily from the smaller Kona subcompact SUV with thin lights and the brand’s “cascading grille.”
According to Reuters a Hyundai insider, who remains anonymous because,” he is not authorized to speak to the media” said, “the new Santa Fe will be a bread and butter model for us this year.”
He also told Reuters that the model comes with a 2.0-liter and a 2.2-liter diesel engine, a more fuel-efficient eight-speed transmission and some semi-autonomous driver assistance tech used in its Genesis premium sedans.
The side rendering shows off the sleek roof line and the side character line running from the headlights to the sharp taillights.
The rear section features both a confident and stable stance with unique taillights, dual mufflers, and a voluminous bumper design.
