The Inspector General of Police Mr. David Asante Apeatu, took home 3 awards in three categories out of 100 award nominees during the 8th Ghana Information Technology and Telcoms Awards (GITTA).

The award was held at Movenpic Ambassador Hotel at Accra.

The Ghana Police Service (GPS) was nominated in two categories namely,  Best Government Website and the Best Government use of social media.

But the Ghana Police Service emerged the overall winner in both categories, taking home the Golden plagues.

The IGP, who was nominated for Leadership and Innovation in ICT Transformation also emerged the highest winner in that category.

Taking home another gold plague for his success.

GITTA is an award program in the Information Technology and Telcoms Service industry that promotes innovation and excellence in the Information Communication Technology (ICT)  sector.

It has been in existence for the past eight years.

This year marks the first time the Ghana Police Service has dominated in any of the categories.

But amazingly,  the service swept the awards in the various categories.

MTN Ghana also bagged 12 awards during the ceremony.

Similarly, Vodafone, Hubtel, Vodacom, and Universal Merchant Bank (UMB) also receiving awards in the various categories.
