The Ministry of Communication has called on Women In Tech Africa(WITA), to partner with them in order to put in place measures, which would help equip women and children with skills in technology.

According to the Minister of Communication, Mrs Ursula Owusu-Akuffo, it is unforgivable that the Ghanaian population cannot take advantage of the advancement in technology to improve their lives.

She mentioned this during a meeting with a delegation from WITA which was geared towards, finding ways to develop programs, which will enable more young women partake in the digital explosion happening globally.

She mentioned during the meeting that, if underprivileged children are properly trained and well equipped in technology, they could be the next Einsteins and Steve Jobs of the world.

She therefore called on WITA to collaborate and join forces with the Ministry of Communication, to reach out to these children and women using technology.

Mrs Ethel Coffie, Founder of WITA after thanking the Minister, mentioned that their corporation is well positioned to take up the challenge due to their acquired skills and knowledge.

WITA is an organization which believes women are equally capable of being at the forefront of technological development in Africa and the world at large.
