South Africa-based mobile telecoms provider MTN, has announced the addition of a new broadband product to their customer offerings, aimed at addressing consumers’ need for in-home internet connectivity.

“MTN Made For Home is a response to a growing number of customers that needs a high-speed internet connection in their homes,” said Jacqui O’Sullivan, an executive for corporate affairs at MTN South Africa.

As part of MTN’s fixed LTE network, MTN ‘Made For Home’ is specifically designed for use within a fixed location said the operator.

Users will only need a router and a SIM card to give multiple people within the home connectivity to high-speed internet.

MTN Made For Home offers 4 price plans and is bundled with the Sh@relink B612 as entry level device.

Price Range

MTN Made For Home 15GB is available for light users at R369 pm with a total data of 30GB (15GB Anytime data and 15GB Night Express data)

Medium users can subscribe for the MTN Made For Home 30GB plan.

This offers a total of 60GB; 30GB Anytime data and 30GB Night Express data for R669 pm.

For heavier users, the MTN Made For Home 60GB (120GB total data) and 110GB (220GB total data) is available for R1,069 and R1,469 respectively.

MTN Made For Home also offers customers a range of built-in bundles ranging from 2GB for R69 to 100GB at R999 for one-off or repeated purchases on these price plans.

Customers can view the coverage map online to confirm whether they are within MTN’s Fixed LTE coverage area.

The company said its recent operations in South Africa recorded year-on-year service revenue growth of 2.5%.
