It’s that time of the year again and MTN has launched its Internet Festival, dubbed i-Fest for the eight year this month.

The festival which is a celebration of the internet and also a means of creating awareness about the many benefits of the internet to the people of Ghana and the world as whole was given the theme “making video a lifestyle – learn, work and play”.

The CEO of the largest telecommunications network in Ghana Mr. Selorm Adadevoh mentioned the increased potential of video content creation and sharing due to the increase of use of smartphones on the network.

This he believed was a prime opportunity to educate the masses on the potential videos on the internet has in bettering lives.

He went on to announce a special internet bundle offer code; *138#, known as the MTN Video Bundles.

This bundle provides highly discounted bundles to suit the needs and purposes of consumers.

MTN i-Fest has a number of activities lined up through which it will properly encourage user consumption of videos on the internet especially using the company’s 4G services which have been introduced nationwide.

A few of the lined up activities are a digital fair in partnership with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and Digital Service providers.

The fair will showcase some of the many innovations being undertaken via MTN’s 4G services.

Campus Storms, Regional Trader Fora and Social Media Video Contests are some of the other activities to be undertaken.

In the case of contests, participants stand the chance of winning high end 4G smartphones and shopping vouchers.

MTN will also be introducing platforms such as MTN Play and MTN Shortz.

These are platforms where consumers can upload and download video content.

MTN hopes that this year’s i-Fest will help introduce many customers to not only videos already existing on the internet which can help improve lives but also to inculcate the habit or trend of video content creation in the country.
