The National Identification Authority (NIA) says the technical glitch which prevented the launch of the registration for and issuance of the Ghana card on 28th May, 2018 has been dealt with.
According to the Acting Executive Secretary of the NIA, Professor Ken Agyemang Attafuah, the problem was dealt with last Wednesday and more than 500 people had since been registered and issued with their cards.
He also said that the NIA would soon announce its schedule for the registration exercise and dismissed inferences that the technical glitch was a sabotage.
“You must have solid evidential basis to suggest conspiracy. I have none with respect to what happened last Sunday evening. I believe it was just a technical glitch and so when we put our shoulders to the wheel and applied our best intellect, we found what was the problem and we solved it,” said Professor Attafuah.
