The one-eighth of the National Science and Maths Quiz 2018, began today with a stunning performance by KNUST SHS.

The first competition started at 10 am between KNUST SHS, Sunyani SHS and Ada SHS.

All three schools fought valiantly for a place in the quarter finals with Sunyani SHS likely to be the winner by the end of the third round.

Ada SHS however took the lead by the end of the fourth round with 38 points followed by Sunyani SHS with 36 points and KNUST SHS with 30 points.

In a shocking turn of events in the final round of the competition, KNUST SHS (Ackah Derrick, Baako Mathias) took first place with 40 points, Sunyani SHS and Ada SHS with 39 and 38 points respectively.

In the second competition, Mfantsipim School competed against Nandom SHS and Bolgatanga Girls’ SHS.

Mfantsipim School (David Ansa Bel, James Owusu Appiah) decimated their opponents with a winning score of 60 points to Nandom SHS’s 13 points and Bolgatanga Girls’ 03 points.

The finals for the day saw Presby Boys’ SHS (PRESEC), Legon, Yaa Asantewaa Girls’ SHS and Presby SHS, Nkwatia compete against each other.

PRESEC, Legon were unwavering in their quest to emerge winners and their hardwork paid off when they won the competition with 53 points to Yaa Asantewaa Girls’ 22 and Presby SHS, Nkwatia’s 10.

The winners of today; KNUST SHS, Mfantsipim School and PRESEC, Legon will compete against each other in the quarter finals on Thursday, June 28th.
