First timers Sonrise SHS gave their competition a run for their money in today’s round of NSMQ2018 prelimanaries.

The first timers (Emmanuel Mawuli Abadzivor and Aklamanu Elorm Fountain) where pitted against Opoku Ware School and Berekum SHS.

They fought tooth and nail with the former school to emerge winner with 49 points.

Opoku Ware came in with 46 points and Berekum with 15 points.

At NNB, Ghana SHS, Koforidua faced Bompeh SHTS and Kanton SHS.

Although all three schools appeared evenly matched at the end of the first round, Ghana SHS, Koforidua (David Gyampo and Nelly Ollennu) won this round with 32 points, Bompeh with 17 points and Kanton with 18 points.

The second round of the competition took place between Islamic SHS, Kumasi SHTS and Akatsi SHTS at UGBS.

By the end of the third round, it looked like Kumasi SHTS were set to win this round.

Islamic SHS (Abdullah Zaidan Mohammed and Ibrahim Abdul-Rahman) however buckled down and overtook Kumasi SHS with a final score of 36 points, Kumasi finishing with 29 points and Akatsi with 24.

At NNB, Salaga SHS competed against Obuasi SHTS and SDA SHS, Bekwai.

Obuasi (Paul Owusu and Lawrence Adjei) won with 37 points, SDA SHS with 22 points and Salaga SHS with 18 points.

The final match of the day saw Anglican SHS, Kumasi go against Nafana Presbys SHS and Benkum SHS at UGBS.

Anglican SHS (Otuo Serebour Eldad and Ahenkro Badu Grandson) won the competition with 49 points, Nafana Presbys with 26 points and Benkum with 20 points.

At NNB, T.I Ahmadiya SHS, Kumasi competed against Ghana SHS, Tamale and Adonten SHS.

The end of the competition saw Adonten SHS (Osae Zanu Shadrack and Dawuda Nuraini) emerge victorious with 31 points, Ghana SHS with 21 points and T.I Ahmadiya with 20 points.
