Reports coming from South Africa indicate that Samsung South Africa has launched mobile service vans to repair Galaxy S8 and Note 8 devices purchased in the country at the customer’s home or office, IT-Online reported. The service was launched in Johannesburg and Pretoria in December 2017 and the vans are now available in Durban and Cape Town as well.
There is a reported call-out fee of ZAR 150.00 with customers expected to be told whether or not there are any other charges.
Customers in the country are to call 0860 726 7864 after which the call centre will establish the repair type required, and dispatch a van from the service centre within a certain radius from the customer’s home or office.
It is understood that the services includes labour and parts as stipulated by the terms and conditions on the device warranty card. Service engineers will assist with device set-up, wireless connections and registration of new Samsung products, as well as product training.
According to the reports, Samsung says feedback from people who have used the service has been positive so far.
