A mobile search engine application for adolescents “Young,” has been unveiled by Chinaso Inc., a search engine company based in China.

The app which is based on artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and supported by big data- and deep learning-based algorithms, can screen out and block harmful online content for adolescents.

These contents include violence, pornography and gambling.

With the AI robot companion-style search service of “Young,” users can search online for age-appropriate content and find answers to their questions anytime and anywhere.

The app can also recommend quality content such as online courses, video and animation, based on users’ age, gender and interests.

Young employs a popup window requesting users’ gender and age upon first use, and employs AI algorithms to personalize content for teenagers, such as animations and online English courses.

The app has attracted over 10 million downloads since its trial launch in June
