Surfline Communications and the Ghana Library Authority (GhLA) have partnered to provide Wi-Fi connectivity to patrons of public libraries in the Greater Accra Region.

Surfline will design and implement a user subscription model for the network of Greater Accra Regional library users and provide Facebook live video streaming for the Year of Reading Project campaign.

The two organizations also endorsed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to fully validate their collaboration.

Mr. Hayford Siaw, The Executive Director (Ag.) of Ghana Library Authority, and Mr. Rene Gameli-Kwame, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Surfline Communications Ltd, signed the MOU for their individual organizations.

Mr. Siaw indicated, at the event, that government is investing in education to provide high quality and affordable education to all Ghanaians.

The GhLA also announced 2019 as the Year of Reading, starting from February 19th, to further the cause.

This partnership will be instrumental in increasing the library’s accessibility by making content available online.

Mr. Siaw further divulged that the project and new direction is to make the GhLA more connected and the Surfline partnership is very critical in realizing this vision.

Rene Gameli-Kwame praised GhLA’s management for the initiative and promised Surfline’s backing toward the success of the project.
