Online booking platform mTick has expanded its services to Senegal after observing a strong uptake in its home market Côte d’Ivoire.

Speaking to Disrupt Africa, founder Abdoulaye Bill Diara said the platform is self-funded and he is pleased with its growth.

“The activity is growing quite well but not as fast as it could because lot of people aren’t aware of the existence of this strong and easy way to buy tickets,” he said.

In spite of this, the Côte d’Ivoire-based ticketing platform is already in discussions about establishing itself in another market.

They are also interested in securing investments and partners in countries like Mali and Nigeria.

mTick was founded in 2015; a ticketing platform for buying and booking bus tickets via mobile and pc.

With mTick, users can view schedules, compare prices, pay via mobile money and receive their ticket by SMS or e-mail.

Although mTick focused on inter-urban transportation ticketing at first, the platform has branched into other kinds of ticketing including sports and events.

mTick now boasts over 2,800 users in Ivory Coast and since its launch in Senegal, has acquired 150 users.
