Vodacom Business Nigeria has signed an agreement for satellite services, to expand its enterprise broadband networks.

The agreement was signed with Intelsat S.A, operator of the Globalized Network and Integrated satellite solutions company.

Vodacom says, the agreement will enable new and enhanced services throughout West Africa.

The company, will utilise the satellite services on Intelsat 35e with an aim to deliver fast, high-quality and resilient broadband connectivity to the banking, oil and gas, and enterprise sectors across West Africa.

The partnership, will enable Vodacom to further enhance the services being offered to its existing customers in Nigeria.

Lanre Kolade, Managing Director, Vodacom Business Nigeria said, “Everyone understands the power of connectivity, but it can be difficult to reach certain locations across Africa.”

He mentioned that, integrating Intelsat’s satellite services into their network, will enable them to rapidly deploy broadband network into new areas across West Africa.

He added that it will also ensure fast delivery and affordable internet access.

As a result of this, people in the communities that Vodacom serves will gain access to services that will provide real benefits.

Some of the benefits include business connectivity, news updates, and improved quality of services in healthcare, banking and education.

In addition benefits above, it will also help promote the economic development of the communities.

He said, all these will be made possible following the newly signed agreement with Intelsat.
