Vodafone Ghana has pledged its commitment to support actors in the small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) as they contribute to the promotion of the socio-economic development in the country.

The Head of Vodafone Business Solutions, Mrs. Angela Mensah-Opoku, said Vodafone had found the need to support and recognize the contribution of SMEs to change the country’s economic outlook.

Mrs. Mensah-Opoku made these known to the media during the Vodafone-sponsored “Small and Medium Scale Enterprise Ghana (SMEGA) 2018”, an award ceremony to honor leaders in the SMEs for their contribution to socio-economic development.

She said the event had been organized at a time that there were uncertainties in some parts of the economy, particularly due to the imbalances and deterioration in the financial services sector.

“I know some of our businesses are going through some difficulties as we speak”, she said.

“Especially due to tighter regulations in accessing finance and other services”.

“Our commitment to developing SMEs in the country by offering them innovative solutions remains unchanged.

“Currently SMEs make up 25 per cent our enterprise revenue portfolio while commanding about 60 per cent in terms of volumes.

“We are looking forward to enhancing our base even further as we look to securing corporate leadership in this space,” she added.

Vodafone aims to collaborate with SMEs with their products, services and expertise to make their businesses grow.
